Experimental Progressive percussive music with elements
of Classical, Jazz and various other styles

"You won't believe your eyes!" says Daniel Pancaldi, member of Virtual Max, masters of percussion instruments. "What you will hear doesn't appear to be percussive, but believe me, it is, we're hitting things!" Daniel states that if you were impressed by their performance a couple of years ago at the montreal DrumFest, now, you will have to redefine that word.

One of the major changes that we'll see when Pancaldi joins Patrice Charbonneau (where in the world did he find all these amazing skills?) and Pierre Dragon (drummer of the team) is all of bthe electronics involved. Virtual Max uses four Mallet KATs - add to that xylophones, marimbas, vibraphones, a chapman stick and a million samples. Their music reminds the mellotron textures of the early Genesis, the harmonies of Ennio Morricone, the melodies of Emerson, Lake and Palmer and the rhytmic excentricities of Stravinski.

And that's only the audio portion! A performance by Virtual Max is also a pleasure for the eyes!

This is what happens when two classically taught percussionists join up with a Progressive drummer. Their music is an amalgalm of experimental percussions with various elements such as progressive and jazz. The sounds coming from these two legendary percussionists, added to the expertise of Pierre Dragon's drumming make Virtual Max a unique band.
